The Scottish architect Steve Marnoch renovated Hetzberger's original course into a classic heathland course on Scottish and English lines, with open sightlines, dry valleys from the ice age, deep hollows and rugged bunkers. The sandy soil keeps it playable all year, almost always on summer greens in winter.
