The Drentsche Golf & Country Club near Assen lies in 240 hectares of nature, 140 of them laid out as golf course. Gerard Jol designed the 27-hole championship course in three loops; Geel (yellow) is open with water hazards, Rood (red) has some woodland holes and large lakes, and Wit (white) lies in an existing stand of woodland. There is also a 9-hole par 3 course and a 32-room Golf Lodge.

Golfclub de Semslanden in Gasselternijveen lies on the border of Groningen and Drenthe. Its 18-hole course has two loops; Hondsrug sits on sand in Drenthe's wooded, hedged landscape, while Boerveen leans towards the Hunze valley and the Groningen peatlands and is more open. The first nine were completed in 1989 to a design by Eschauzier & Thate, and Gerard Jol drew the second nine.

Gerard Jol designed the 18-hole course, which is divided into three rooms separated by old hawthorn hedges. Old trees and more than 1,000 newly planted ones, three large water features and well-placed bunkers shape the play.

The Westfriese Golfclub in Westwoud plays a par 71 championship course of just over 5,900 metres. Gerard Jol laid out the first nine in 1985, and a second nine followed in 2005 in the wide, watery West Frisian landscape. A parkland nine and an open, links-like nine alternate.

The Zaanse Golf Club in Wijdewormer has, by the club's account, more water than any other Dutch course, with islands, ditches and a large lake. On five holes you tee off from an old polder dyke with wide views. Gerard Jol designed the course early in his career.
