Golfbaan Spaarnwoude lies in the recreation area of the same name near Velsen-Zuid, between Amsterdam, Haarlem and Schiphol. With 54 holes it calls itself one of the largest and most varied golf destinations in Europe, and you don't need to be a member to play.
Six loops
The 54 holes are split into six loops of nine. The E and D courses are aimed at experienced golfers and offer the most challenge; an 18-hole round is usually played over these two. Within 48 hours of the day of play you can also book them as a last-minute nine. The A and B loops are accessible and varied, for beginners and experienced players alike, while the F loop is ideal for starters and short-game practice. There are also par 3/4 loops. You need handicap 54 for the main loops.
Facilities
The driving range has Inrange, which measures distance, speed and accuracy for every ball and shows it on a screen or your phone. There are large putting greens, chipping areas and practice bunkers, and a golf school runs clinics for beginners and groups. The site also has a large golf shop, two restaurants with terraces and a new hotel. Players up to 24 get a discount on the green fee.
