De Batouwe lies in Zoelen, in the heart of the Betuwe close to Tiel. Alan Rijks designed its 27 holes in park-like grounds with some six metres of elevation change, old groups of trees and fruit orchards. A 9-hole par 3/4 layout has been woven in since 2021.

Golfcentrum De Batouwe lies in Zoelen, in the heart of the Betuwe and a stone's throw from Tiel. Wide belts of trees and existing woods along the canal help the complex blend into the countryside.

Pears, apples and cherries

Alan Rijks designed the 27 holes, an A-status course. He made use of the existing park-like ground, with around six metres of elevation change, old groups of trees and fruit orchards, which the club says gives the course a mature feel. The three loops are named after the Betuwe's fruit growing: Perengaard (par 36), Appelgaard (par 35) and Kersengaard (par 36). In spring the scattered fruit trees are in blossom. The layout is generous, so beginners and experienced players both get on with it, while water and rolling slopes provide the challenge.

Short course and practice

Since 2021 a 9-hole par 3/4 layout has been woven into the course, playable with just a course permit. The practice facilities were extended with a short game area at the same time, and the driving range was made longer and wider; it is partly covered and floodlit. The thatched clubhouse has a grand café, a restaurant and a large terrace overlooking the course.
