Golfbaan Stippelberg

Golfbaan Stippelberg lies near Bakel, south of the De Stippelberg nature area, in the municipality of Gemert-Bakel. The course takes its name partly from the old drift-sand dunes that dotted the original estate like spots; they have been recreated on the course.

A course in a new nature area

The course is part of a large regional programme in which 400 hectares between De Stippelberg and the villages of Bakel and Milheeze were turned into a water-rich nature and recreation area with a golf course, a beach, a visitor centre and a campsite. The golf complex itself covers more than 90 hectares. Large lakes are an integral part of the course and will grow to 60 hectares in all over the coming years.

The courses

There are 27 holes: an 18-hole Championship Course, par 71 and 6,131 metres, and a 9-hole executive course with five par 3s and four par 4s. The green fee is the same every day, with a twilight rate from 5 pm. A group's combined handicap may not exceed 108, and private buggies are not allowed. The brasserie, with a sunny terrace, is open seven days a week. The director, Dorine Daemen, told Golf.nl she avoids the word "low-threshold" because people associate it with cheap.
