Het Rijk van Sybrook has 27 holes on an old estate in a wooded part of Enschede. Some holes look out over the Twente patchwork of fields and hedgerows, others lie between blocks of woodland; water and mature rhododendrons set the scene.

Golfbaan Het Rijk van Sybrook lies on an old estate in a wooded part of Enschede, on the eastern side of Twente. It belongs to Het Rijk Golfbanen, as do the courses at Nijmegen, Nunspeet and Margraten, and prides itself on its hospitality.

The course

The 27 holes lie in three loops, North, East and South, and every pairing is par 72. Some holes look out over the typical Twente patchwork of fields and hedgerows, others are enclosed by blocks of woodland. Water comes into play regularly, and in spring the mature rhododendrons add plenty of colour. Combining different loops means a return visit gives you a different round. The clubhouse looks out over the course.

As a visitor

Green fee players are welcome seven days a week; handicap 54 is enough. Bookings open fourteen days before the day of play, online or by phone. Children up to 12 play free when accompanied one-to-one by a paying adult. Packages combine a round with coffee on arrival, drinks or dinner, and with the city of Enschede close by the course works well for a golf weekend.
