Golfclub Anderstein in Maarsbergen has 27 holes in three loops, Vallei, Heuvelrug and Heide. Any two loops make an 18-hole course with par 72 or 73.
Golfclub Anderstein lies on the Anderstein estate near Maarsbergen, right on the border between the Utrechtse Heuvelrug ridge and the Gelderse Vallei. That position between two landscapes shapes the course.
Three loops
The 27 holes are split into three loops of nine: Vallei, Heuvelrug and Heide. Each loop has its own character, and any two of them make a course of par 72 or par 73. Trees, shrubs and water come into play throughout a round. Information boards about the local wildlife stand at several points on the course, for players who look around between shots.
Nature and the club
The club takes care of the estate's fragile flora and fauna and has held GEO certification since 2014. Members regularly help with work on the course, partly through their own nature working group. There is a driving range, practice greens and a practice area by practice hole 1, where the professionals of Golf Academie Anderstein teach. Green fee players with handicap 36 or lower are welcome Monday to Saturday, but not on Sundays or public holidays.
