Landgoed Bergvliet in Oosterhout has an 18-hole par 71 course and a 9-hole par 3 course. Designers Gerard Jol and Michiel van der Vaart fitted the course into the estate's greenery while keeping its natural character.

Landgoed Bergvliet lies between the farmland of the Vrachelse Heide and the woods of Oosterhout. The estate, owned by the Pheninckx family, dates back to the thirteenth century and has served many purposes. Until 2007 cattle grazed its meadows; then a golf course was laid out on more than 60 hectares.

The course

The designers Gerard Jol and Michiel van der Vaart fitted the course into the estate's greenery and kept its natural character intact where they could. The result is an 18-hole par 71 course with water features and greens with testing slopes, plus a 9-hole par 3 course. Professionals teach beginners and experienced players, with group lessons through the winter months.

Around the course

The Paviljoen was built at the same time as the course and houses restaurant De Proeverij and grand café De Schenkerij; its large windows look out over the course and the floodlit pond. The sixteenth-century Koetshuis, used as a coach house until the early 1950s, was renovated in 2009 and is now an events venue. The Spa One wellness centre is also on the estate, so a round of golf easily becomes a full day out.
