The Leeuwarder Golfclub lies in the De Groene Ster nature area on the edge of Leeuwarden, in typical Frisian countryside. The club invites everyone to give golf a try, with free taster lessons for people who have never played.
The course
Gerard Jol designed the 18-hole course, par 72 and 6,188 metres from the back tees. Ditches and ponds come into play throughout and call for strategic choices: many holes make you choose between the safe route and a carry over water. The green fee is the same every day of the week and includes free use of the driving range and its balls. Besides the main course there is a par 3 course.
As a visitor
Visitors request a tee time from the club office, by phone or email on weekdays. Between 10.30 am and 3 pm single players cannot book. There are packages that add dinner, an overnight stay or a museum visit in Leeuwarden. If you arrive by camper van you can stay one night in the car park opposite the clubhouse, without facilities. Members get reduced rates at other clubs, including De Compagnie in Veendam.
