Leeuwenbergh in The Hague was laid out by Gerard Jol in 1988. Soil from the water features gave the course its rolling character, and several holes have been changed or rebuilt since 2014.

Haagse Golfvereniging Leeuwenbergh lies on the eastern side of The Hague, near Ypenburg. It is a friendly club with a lively membership, and according to the club its greens are quick all year.

The course

Gerard Jol laid out the course in 1988. Soil dug out for the water features gave it its rolling character, and since 2014 several holes have been changed or rebuilt. The 18 holes play to par 71. The clubhouse looks out over holes 12, 13 and 18. Players may tee off from any tee that suits the length of their drive; the guide is posted in the clubhouse and printed on the scorecard.

Sustainability

In 2026 Leeuwenbergh was nominated for Sports Facility of the Year, the first golf club ever to reach the top five. The jury praised its broad approach to sustainability: energy, biodiversity, water management and reuse of materials, but also room for para-golf. Green fee players need a valid WHS handicap certificate; a course permit gained elsewhere is not accepted. A group's combined handicap may not exceed 108, and the whole group checks in with the caddie master half an hour before tee-off. There is a Golf Academy and a golf shop of more than 125 square metres.
