Golfpark Sint Nyk lies on the edge of Sint Nicolaasga in Friesland, in country of meadows, woodland edges and water. It belongs to the Hollandsche Golfclub, a group of public golf parks you can play without joining a members' club.
The course
The 18-hole course, par 72 and 6,038 metres, is made up of a yellow and a red loop of nine. Open stretches alternate with rows of trees, water hazards and some surprising doglegs. The yellow loop runs through open Frisian country with wide views and a mix of exposed and more sheltered holes; the red loop has more water and long sightlines. Both can be played on their own, handy if you want a quick nine after work.
Space and quiet
The park puts the emphasis on calm, space and a relaxed atmosphere. Professionals teach on site, and free taster days are held for people who want to try the game. The brasserie is open to golfers and non-golfers alike, for coffee, lunch, drinks or dinner. Tee times are booked online.
