Het Rijk van Margraten lies in the hills of South Limburg, among farmland, vineyards and old woods. Besides the 18-hole course there is a 9-hole par 3 course for short golf.
Golfbaan Het Rijk van Margraten lies near Cadier en Keer, in the hills of South Limburg between Maastricht and Margraten. The course is set among farmland, vineyards and old woods, and the large terrace looks out over the surrounding country. It belongs to Het Rijk Golfbanen, as do the courses at Nijmegen, Nunspeet and Sybrook.
The course
The 18 holes are varied, par 72 and 5,709 metres, and run through the rolling landscape that makes South Limburg so different from the rest of the Netherlands. Green fee players are welcome seven days a week and can book fourteen days ahead. The clubhouse prides itself on Burgundian conviviality, good food and Limburg hospitality.
Short golf and practice
Besides the main course there is a 9-hole par 3 course for short golf, with holes of 50 to 80 metres. Anyone can play it, including people who have never golfed: balls and clubs can be borrowed, and a short lesson is included in the price. The covered driving range has 22 bays, all with TrackMan technology that you use through your own phone or tablet, and a nine-hole putting and chipping green lies to the left of the 1st tee. To use the practice facilities you need a course permit or must be taking lessons at the golf school.
