Golfpark Reymerswael lies near Rilland, in the east of Zeeland, in open country between the Westerschelde, the Scheldt-Rhine Canal and wide polders. It belongs to the Hollandsche Golfclub, a group of public golf parks you can play without joining a members' club.
An unusual layout
The 18 holes are not split into two nines but into a red loop of 12 holes and a blue loop of 6. Together they make a par 71 course of 5,944 metres. You play between dykes and water, with low vegetation, gentle dune ridges and views towards the Westerschelde and the canal. According to the park the red loop has a links-like feel, surrounded by water, creeks and polders, and the Zeeland wind makes every round a little harder. Because the loops are booked separately, an 18-hole round means reserving both.
A shorter game
The six-hole blue loop is straightforward and welcoming, suited to trying the game, a quick round or practice when you are short of time. The park runs free taster days, practice sessions for beginners, themed lessons in small groups and low-key competitions such as an autumn event around St Martin's Day.
