Golfclub Oostburg lies on the De Brugse Vaart estate, on the banks of the old Zwin inlet near Oostburg in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. In 1986 the site was chosen for an 18-hole course with plenty of water along the Brugse Vaart, the canal Bruges dug in the 16th century against the silting up of the Zwin.

Golfclub Oostburg lies on the De Brugse Vaart estate, on the banks of the old Zwin inlet near Oostburg, in the west of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen and close to the Belgian border. The estate takes its name from the canal the city of Bruges dug in the early sixteenth century in an attempt to stop the Zwin silting up.

The course

In 1986 this site was chosen for an 18-hole course. Extra lakes were dug along the banks of the Brugse Vaart, so water comes into play on many holes. The course lies in the open polder country of western Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, where the wind off the nearby coast has free rein. Bruges and the Belgian coast are a short drive away, which makes the course worth knowing if you are on holiday in the area.
