The course
The 18 holes are laid out as a parkland course in open West Frisian country, with some testing holes for more experienced players. The green fee is among the lowest in this guide, and from April to September a twilight rate applies from 4 pm. Tee times can be booked online or by phone up to a week ahead, with a maximum of four players per group.
Trying golf
De Vlietlanden makes a point of catering for people who want to try the game. There are two-hour clinics that can be combined with lunch, burgers, a barbecue or drinks, and even a boat trip for groups of six to twenty. The practice facilities include a driving range, a practice hole, a chipping area and a putting green, and there are supervised lessons for children up to 18.
