Crossmoor on the Laurabos estate near Weert is a championship course with open and tree-lined holes among water and historic woodland and heath. Joan Dudok van Heel designed the first nine, Hans Hertzberger the second, which opened in 1988.
Golfbaan Crossmoor lies on the Laurabos estate near Weert, in central Limburg close to the Belgian border. The course sits in the quiet nature area of the Laurabossen woods, far from traffic noise, bounded on one side by the woods and on the other by the meandering Tungelroysche Beek stream.
The course
Crossmoor is a championship course, testing and varied but playable for golfers across the handicap range. Joan Dudok van Heel designed the first nine holes; Hans Hertzberger drew the other nine, which opened in 1988. Open and tree-lined holes alternate, set among water and historic woodland and heath. Its most striking feature is the great variety of broadleaf and coniferous trees, which give the course a different look in every season. The 18 holes play to par 72.
Par 3 course and staying over
The 9-hole par 3 course has holes of very different character. On the 4th you play over water to a two-tier green, the 6th has a tricky bunker at the front, and the 9th green is reached through a narrow gap. Brasserie Laurius and Hotel Laurabos are right next to the course, so you can combine golf with dinner and a night's stay. Day visitors are welcome with handicap 54 and a Dutch federation handicap card.
