The Rosendaelsche Golfclub in Arnhem, founded in 1895, is one of the oldest golf clubs in the Netherlands. The course lies on the Veluwezoom, in a Natura 2000 area, and according to the club has the oldest holes in the country. The club calls itself a hidden gem in Arnhem and one of the most highly rated heathland and woodland courses in Europe.
No water
The Rosendaelsche is an authentic, natural heathland and woodland course, par 72 and 6,451 metres from the back tees. There are no water hazards; the challenge lies in subtle greens, narrow fairways and strategically placed bunkers. The 1st tee sits beside the clubhouse, in full view of the terrace. To the left of the tee, against the rhododendrons, stands a concrete bench from 1925, a gift from Aalbrecht A. del Court van Krimpen. The club has been GEO certified since 2012.
The club
The club has around 1,000 members and describes itself as a family club that brings generations together. Its competition teams play at the highest level in Europe. The pro team works with everyone from beginners to low handicappers, and the TrackMan Range is also available for events. Restaurant de Rosendaelsche has a lounge terrace that catches the afternoon sun. Visitors are welcome and report to the golf shop on arrival.
