The Lochemse Golfclub has a mature 18-hole course in lush countryside near Lochem, with practice and teaching facilities and a clubhouse with restaurant.

The Lochemse Golfclub lies near Lochem, in the wooded patchwork landscape of the Achterhoek. The course is mature and set in lush countryside, and the club puts friendliness, hospitality and quality first.

A long run-up

The first ideas for a golf course date back to 1936, when the mayor, R. van Luttervelt, proposed one. The war put an abrupt end to the plan, and it was only in 1987 that alderman L. van der Velden revived it. The first nine holes opened in August 1993 and the second nine in May 1995. The design came from Eschauzier & Thate of Arnhem, who fitted the course neatly into the Achterhoek landscape. In 2001 the three-hole practice course was upgraded to a design by Bruno Steensels, and from 2012 to 2016 the 18-hole course was substantially reworked in places under Michiel van der Vaart of Jol Golf Design.

The course today

The 18 holes play to par 72 and 6,296 metres from the back tees. Since March 2025 a robot mower has cut the fairways, freeing the greenkeepers to concentrate on fine-tuning the course. The club stresses that anyone may play from any tee: starting closer to the hole often means more fun. There are good practice and teaching facilities and a lively clubhouse with a restaurant.
