The Keppelse Golfclub in Hoog-Keppel, founded in 1926, was long known as the gnome club of Dutch golf. Today it has a full 18-hole course in wooded surroundings.

The Keppelse Golfclub in Hoog-Keppel, in the Achterhoek, is the eighth-oldest golf club in the Netherlands. Local dignitaries founded it in 1926 in Hummelo as Golfclub Enghuizen, and it later took its present name. On 23 January 2026 the club celebrated its centenary with a 256-page anniversary book.

From small club to full club

The Keppelse stayed small for a very long time and was known in Dutch golf as the "gnome club". This century it has grown into a full club with around 850 members and an 18-hole course. Its hallmark is how involved the members are and how much they do themselves, which the club sums up as the "Keppel feeling".

The course

The course lies in wooded country, largely on the Ulenpas estate; Ulenpas Castle stands right behind the 3rd green. The 18 holes play to par 70 and 5,631 metres, with plenty of room but enough challenge. Visitors with handicap 54 are welcome and book through the club office. There are practice facilities and handicarts, and in summer a twilight rate applies after 6 pm.
