Golfpark De Berendonck lies in Wijchen, close to Nijmegen, in the De Berendonck recreation area. It belongs to the Hollandsche Golfclub, a group of public golf parks you can play without joining a members' club.
The course
The 18-hole par 71 course is made up of two loops of nine, the yellow and the red. It winds through varied country with water, woodland edges and natural changes in elevation, and the park says no two holes are the same. The red loop has more woodland and relief; the yellow loop runs through open greenery with water and gentle slopes. At 5,879 metres from the back tees it is not especially long.
Short course and brasserie
Next to the main course there is a 9-hole short course, small and easy to get round, for beginners or for practising your short game. The park runs free taster days and low-key competitions all season, and the End of Medals rounds off the competition year. After your round there is the brasserie, open to non-golfers too.
