De Hooge Rotterdamsche sits on a ridge some 25 metres high in the Rottemeren area on the north side of Rotterdam. That gives its 18 holes plenty of elevation change and a view of the city skyline.

De Hooge Rotterdamsche lies in the Rottemeren area on the north side of Rotterdam, near Bergschenhoek, on a ridge around 25 metres high. For a course in the South Holland polders, that is exceptional.

Up and down

At De Hooge Rotterdamsche you are walking uphill and downhill, and these un-Dutch changes in elevation make the 18 holes unique in the region, the club says. The course is par 71 and 5,656 metres, and beginners and low handicappers alike find a challenge. It is the home course of Golfclub De Hooge Rotterdamsche and the place where Joost Luiten hit his first golf ball; he went on to win six times on the European Tour. The free GLFR app gives you an up-to-date course guide with distances to the flag on your phone.

A view of the city

The putting green sits on top of the hill in front of the terrace, looking out over the 18th green and the Rotterdam skyline. At the foot of the driving range, by the 13th green, a large practice green lets you chip, pitch and play bunker shots. The brasserie, open to golfers and non-golfers alike, looks out over the course and the city. Everyone is welcome.
