Golfbaan Hitland is a public course in the Park Hitland recreation area, in polder country between Capelle aan den IJssel and Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel, between Rotterdam and Gouda. It is owned and run by the Hitland recreation board. No membership is needed: everyone is welcome.

The courses

The 18-hole course holds A status from the Dutch federation, par 71 and 5,819 metres, and you need at least a federation course permit to play it. There is also a qualifying 9-hole par 3 course. On both you book a tee time online through TeeControl. Regular visitors are often better off with a round card, and open events with varied formats are held regularly.

Facilities

The practice facilities are free to use. The driving range has 40 bays, 20 of them covered, and is floodlit in the evening, and the putting and chipping greens are open to all. Xavier Golf Academy runs lessons and courses, including a one-day course that ends with a course permit for the par 3. A large golf shop is on site. Restaurant HIT eten & drinken serves as the 19th hole, for coffee, lunch or dinner, also as part of a golf package.
