Golfbaan De Swinkelsche

Golfbaan De Swinkelsche lies near Someren in the Brabant Peel, in countryside that is also popular with cyclists and walkers. Nature, calm and space are, according to the club, what define both the course and the area.

A Frank Pont course

Frank Pont designed the 27 holes; in 2010 Golf Weekly named him the most successful golf course architect in the Netherlands. The 18-hole par 72 Championship Course covers some 90 hectares, enclosed by woodland, large lakes and heath. Wide fairways, a well-thought-out routing, big greens with strong slopes and large bunkers with ragged edges set the tone. Several holes can be played in different ways, which keeps better players interested, while the wide fairways give beginners room. Summer tees and greens are in play all year, with buggies and trolleys allowed, so the course is always qualifying.

The Peelrijtbaan and practice

Around the water range and in the woods lie the nine holes of the Peelrijtbaan, a par 3 course named after the stream that runs through the whole site. You can play it with a course permit or handicap 54. The driving range has 19 covered bays looking out over the water range. There are four practice greens, including a putting green of around 300 square metres with 18 holes, and a bunker green.
