Golfclub De Dommel lies on the historic Zegenwerp estate near Sint-Michielsgestel, between Den Bosch and Boxtel. It is a traditional members' club that welcomes visitors on clear terms.

A Colt course

The 18 holes were designed by Harry S. Colt, the English architect also behind De Pan and the Haagsche. The course winds through rich natural country with rolling fairways, strategic bunkers and greens the club describes as impressive. At par 70 and 5,446 metres from the back tees it is not long; the challenge lies in where you put your tee shot. On one hole heather crosses the middle of the fairway, and on another a hollow lies 60 to 90 metres short of the green, something to bear in mind if you lay up. The club calls one of its holes its signature hole.

As a visitor

De Dommel only charges an 18-hole green fee, paid by card at the club office. You need a handicap of 36 or lower, or 54 as a member's guest. Members of clubs within 50 kilometres, and golfers living in that area, may play on their own account only once a year. Groups of eight or more play in three-balls to keep the course moving.
