Golfclub Broekpolder in Vlaardingen has a long parkland and polder course with open fairways, wide views and reed-fringed water. In 2021 and 2022 the course was completely remodelled to a design by Frank Pont.

Golfclub Broekpolder lies a stone's throw from Rotterdam, in the middle of the recreation area between Vlaardingen and Midden-Delfland. It is one of the "Old Nine", the group of traditional Dutch clubs whose members can play each other's courses at a reduced rate.

The course

Broekpolder is a long parkland and polder course with open fairways and wide views over the lower-lying land around it. Water fringed with reeds comes into play on several holes, and in summer it is full of croaking frogs; the frog is the club's emblem. In 2021 and 2022 the course was completely remodelled to a design by the architect Frank Pont. From the back tees it measures 6,301 metres, par 72.

As a visitor

Broekpolder does not use tee times. The caddie master decides when visitors can play, depending on how busy the course is, so call ahead. You need a Dutch federation (NGF) card and a handicap of 28 or lower, and apart from in the restaurant you can only pay by debit or credit card. The members value style and good manners and expect guests to dress and behave accordingly.
