The home of the BMW International Open lies north-east of Munich, close to the airport. Kurt Roßknecht designed three flat, long nine-hole loops among mature trees, streams, ponds, dry-stone walls and almost 90 bunkers.

Three loops around the clubhouse

Kurt Roßknecht designed Eichenried's original 18-hole championship course, which opened in 1989. The club expanded to 27 holes in 2002, arranging the A, B and C loops so that each set of nine returns to the clubhouse. A+B and A+C play to par 73, while B+C is par 74. The longest back-tee combination is B+C at 6,624 metres; A+B measures 6,579 metres and A+C 6,443 metres.

This is flat, long parkland golf on a 150-hectare site. Mature trees, streams and ponds break up the open ground, while dry-stone walls, two semi-island greens and almost 90 bunkers put a premium on position. The club has kept adapting the course for modern tournament golf, including longer tees and a renovation of the greens completed in 2019.

Home of the BMW International Open

The first BMW International Open was played here just after the course opened in 1989. For the tournament the club returns to the sequence of the old championship course and brings its normally dormant 28th hole back into play. The par 3, known as the Sleeping Beauty hole, runs beside a lake and is used for the hole-in-one competition.

The practice complex includes a floodlit Toptracer range, short-game areas and a public 6-hole course that needs no course permit. Visitors with handicap 36 or better can book the main course up to two days ahead. The club is close to Munich Airport, on the north-eastern side of the city.
